Smooth and sophisticated, this gorgeous Pinot Noir from the Santa Cruz Mountains showcases cool-climate finesse. Aromas of ripe cherry, wild strawberry, and cranberry are layered with hints of forest floor, baking spice, and dried herbs. On the palate, it’s silky, with vibrant acidity, fine tannins, and a long, savory finish.
Vinous Media: 96 Points
The 2021 Pinot Noir Mindego Ridge Vineyard captures all the natural richness that seems to come easily in this site. Dark cherry/plum fruit, leather, licorice, lavender, cloves and dried herbs are beautifully amplified in a large-scaled, dramatic Pinot that delivers the goods. The 2021 is stellar. Don't miss it.
Wine Advocate: 93 Points
The 2021 Pinot Noir Mindego Ridge Vineyard offers a beautiful bouquet of dark fruits, dried spices and underbrush aromas from a young but renowned site near the Skyline area. The palate is medium-bodied, plush and elegant before finishing with bracing acidity and a fine-grained, spherical tannin structure. This will take time to soften and come into itself, but it should prove a sleek but sturdy rendition of this over-performing site.
Wine Enthusiast: 93 Points
Black cherry, cola and tanbark aromas make for a hearty nose on this bottling from a vineyard planted in 2009. That cola and and additional root beer spice flavors enliven the dark plum flavors of the palate.
