From one of Burgundy’s most trusted names, this Premier Cru Pinot Noir from Beaune showcases both finesse and depth. The vineyards of the Beaune appellation include 42 Premiers Crus, thanks to their situation on sloping hillsides well exposed to the sun. Fruit for this wine is a blend of grapes from select Premier Cru vineyards throughout the appellation. Red wines from the north are light in color with soft fruit flavors; those from the central and southern areas are powerful, tannic and deeply colored. The Pinot Noir grapes are destemmed and fermented in open vats for up to one month to extract color, aroma and tannins. Individual Premiers Crus are aged in oak barrels for 18 months before blending.
This is an elegant wine, quite full-bodied, with aromas and flavors of red and black fruit and spices and the firm tannins that contribute to favorable development. This bottle will develop for 10 to 15 years.

The bright, lifted red fruit is supported by cherries, dried strawberries, apple skin, chalk and potpourri. The midweight palate has a high-tension mouthfeel and piercing acidity, rounded out by a grippy yet polished finish. A blend of 12 vineyards, not bottled individually, this is a great representation of the AOC for the vintage.

This red is expressive, fruity and driven by its bracing acidity, boasting cherry, raspberry, floral, vanilla, toasty oak and earth flavors. Firms up, leaving a dense path of tannins on the lingering finish. Elegant overall.
