Hudson Wines Description
Grown by long standing Hudson employees and tended year-round. Most work is done by hand, including harvest. The fruit was picked by hand at night, and whole cluster pressed. The 2023 Chardonnay showcases a combination of 4 distinct blocks from the Hudson Estate planted to heritage shot-Wente selections.
Pressed after harvest, settled and barreled down after 24 hours. Barrel fermented utilizing native yeast in 75% new Francois Freres and Damy oak barrels from Burgundy. The wine is stirred regularly and aged sur lie. Native malolactic fermentation.
It was bottled unfiltered and unfined after 18 months of aging sur lie.
