Faust Description
Faust wines come to us from the indefatigable Agustin Huneeus, the internationally celebrated wine producer behind the beautiful biodynamic estate, Quintessa, in Napa Valley. Agustin has enjoyed great success in the wine world for over five decades, starting in his native country of Chile and spanning 15 other different countries. Quintessa is a highly regarded Bordeaux blend wine in the class of top notch Napa Valley producers like Opus One and Harlan Estate. Agustin started Faust to be able to offer Cabernet Sauvignon at a more accessible price point with the same level of commitment and attention to detail that goes into his Quintessa wine. The folks at Faust describe it as a "a blend of our Coombsville vineyard fruit with lots from other cool sites in the valley—sets the bar for elegant balance in Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. In 2021, cooler-than average temperatures produced that balance naturally, with flavors and tannins reaching maturity against a backdrop of ideal acidity levels. The wine is deliciously versatile, with generously ripe fruit that makes it an appealing sip on its own, but also enough lively acidity to make it an ideal partner for a range of foods." It's still a tremendous value for Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon from such a storied producer.

Inviting aromas of ripe blackcurrants and blackberries as well as crushed walnuts, cedar andbark. Full-bodied, creamy and structured with firm, polished tannins. Balanced and even with a lingering finish.
Wine Spectator: 94 Points
Packed and broad in feel, with a ganache note draped over black currant, blackberry and steeped cherry. Licorice root and alder smoke flavors check in on the finish as the fruit pumps through, ending with a flash of violet. Hard to resist now, but this has some development ahead. Drink now through 2036.
