Aromas of ripe black cherry, plum, and violet with hints of cedar and spice. Silky tannins and refined structure frame a palate of dark fruit and earthy minerality. Elegant and age-worthy, it pairs beautifully with roast beef, duck, or mushroom dishes.
Wine Enthusiast: 93 Points
This is a luscious wine, packed with superripe Merlot and rich tannins. Structure lies behind this generous fruitiness while spice and pepper add an exotic edge. The wine is set to develop well.
Jeb Dunnuck: 90 Points
The 2019 Château Yon-Figeac has a solid bouquet ripe black raspberry, darker cherries, leather, truffle, and graphite to go with a medium-bodied, solidly built, balanced style on the palate. It's not the most elegant wine out there, yet it brings good mid-palate density, ripe tannins, and outstanding length. It's going to gain some finesse with 3-5 years of bottle age and will keep for 10-15 years.
