Monteverro Description
Wine Advocate: 92 Points
The 2008 Terra di Monteverro is a gorgeous wine layered with sweet dark plums, grilled herbs and spices, all of which flow effortlessly from a radiant, medium-bodied frame. I especially like the way the wine blossoms on the mid-palate and finish. This is an excellent choice for readers who want to get a look at what is happening at Monteverro without spending the money for the more important bottlings. Terra di Monteverro is Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2018.
Wine Enthusiast: 91 Points
Terra is the less expensive red from Monteverro, made with a Bordeaux-inspired blend of grapes. This debut vintage shows green spice, black fruit, Greek olive and moist clay. It's an impressive wine, with a thick and determined style.
Wine Spectator: 90 Points
This is ripe, jammy and sumptuous, bursting with blackberry, cassis, licorice and both salty and sweet elements. It's hard to deny this red's appeal and instant gratification, though I don't get any sense of place. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Best from 2012 through 2017. 2,000 cases made.
