Bodega Matarromera Description
Aged for 14 months in American and French wood with a further 12 months ageing in the barrel. The key note of this wine is the balance between the perfectly polished tannins and the sweet notes of fruit and spice. On the nose, bramble notes combine with strawberry and figs. The tannins add great structure on the palate and notes of vanilla, leather and coffee merge with soft blackberry fruits and a long, lingering spicy finish.
Wine Spectator: 90 Points
This lively red shows lovely balance, offering a core of plum sauce and mulberry fruit, with an underpinning of mineral and spice notes. Hints of leather, cocoa powder and dried herbs add detail, and lightly chalky tannins emerge to firm the finish.
