The 2022 Flying Pig is impossible to ignore, bursting from the glass with savory notes of flinty stone, grilled herbs, incense, tobacco, and wild blueberries. It is silken in feel with juicy acidity and masses of red and blue fruits that envelop the palate, leaving a sensation of mineral-liquid stone. Violets mix with a tart blackberry tinge as edgy tannins resonate through the long and structured yet remarklably fresh finish. This is one of the most blanaced and complex vintages of Flying Pig that I have yet tasted. Beautiful stuff.
