The Ricasoli family has been making wine continuously since 1141, making it one of the oldest wineries in Italy and among the world's oldest family-owned businesses. The wine is named after the historic Castello di Brolio, the centuries-old castle that has served as the Ricasoli family's home and winemaking center for generations.
